Locum Consultant Dermatologist

Trafford Hospital is seeking to appoint Locum Consultant Dermatologists. These posts are locum posts pending substantive appointments.

The appointee will work closely with existing Consultants in the Dermatology Department across the Trafford and Altrincham Hospital site with an outreach basis at our Central Manchester site. They will enjoy a strong working relationship with colleagues based at Salford Royal NHS Foundation Trust, which is the regional Dermatology hub as well as with University Hospital South Manchester.

The Dermatology Department provides a complex and HSC dermatology services for the local population of South, Central Manchester and Trafford. In addition, the department provides a secondary and tertiary referral service for other CCGs and provides cover for wide variety specialities within Manchester Royal Infirmary, home to a large number of tertiary and quaternary clinical services for the wider region.

This service is provided by three Consultants, supported by a team of Specialist Nurses. Although there is a level of sub-specialisation within the department, the unit is very cohesive and collaborates closely on all levels.

The Department has dedicated consultation, examination and treatment rooms, together with dedicated theatre space, which enables the team to deliver a high standard of out-patient and day case care.

Services offered from the unit include outpatient phototherapy, photodynamic therapy (PDT), dressings, Hand/Foot PUVA, mole mapping and iontophoresis services.

This is an exciting time to be joining our service as the Trust is committed to developing and growing the Dermatology service and are looking for enthusiastic and dedicated Consultants to work collaboratively with the Directorate Management Team and to support the department through a period of service redesign and change.

There is no on-call commitment associated with this post.
