Are you an experienced neonatal nurse looking to take your clinical career to the next level? Do you want to work with a dynamic and established team of ANNP’s where you will be supported to gain skills and confidence in the management of sick preterm and surgical infants?

We are seeking experienced neonatal intensive care nurses (AfC band 6/7 depending on existing experience) who are looking to further develop their career and undertake training towards an Advanced Neonatal Nurse Practitioner qualification supported by the Newborn Intensive Care Unit at St. Mary's Hospital, Manchester.

Training is completed by undertaking a comprehensive and well established course delivered by the University of Salford at Masters Level. During training you will be closely supervised in the clinical environment by Consultant Neonatologists and other experienced clinical staff.

Once qualified as an ANNP you will provide specialist support to the care of babies at all levels of dependency. Joining a Tier 1 rota comprising junior medical staff and ANNP's, you will have the opportunity to gain experience in ICU/HD, Delivery Unit and the post natal wards.

After successfully qualifying and a period of consolidation the post will attract a Band 8a salary.

We have a great well established team of ANNPs which we are now increasing, so this is a great opportunity to join our friendly and supportive multidisciplinary team. Development of our staff is very important to us because we know that this is key to the success of our high quality service. Each trainee ANNP will have the support from a Consultant Neonatologist who will provide on-going clinical support and development with protected teaching time.

Once qualified you will continue to be supported and will be involved in teaching, audit and research as well as building on your clinical and theoretical knowledge. Development of the ANNP team is led by one of our Consultant Neonatologists who has overall responsibility for your continued education and practice.
Co-located with both the maternity unit and the Royal Manchester Children's Hospital, the Newborn Intensive Care Unit is a bright, spacious well equipped environment, with great facilities designed to meet the needs of families. The Unit team are committed to providing the best care to the families and patients we look after and the NICU is one of the largest units providing both specialist medical and surgical care in the country.

We are looking to appoint staff who are driven and motivated with a really positive attitude to help us develop our service and in return you can expect us to support and value you as an individual. You will need excellent communication skills and the ability to work well within a team.

If you are interested in developing your nursing career in this exciting area of neonatal care, this is the opportunity for you are looking for. If you’d like to chat to one of our current ANNP’s to discuss the role in more detail you would be more than welcome – please contact us on the numbers below.
