Central Manchester University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (CMFT) and the University Hospital of South Manchester NHS Foundation Trust (UHSM) will join together to create a new Foundation Trust in October 2017 which will be named Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust; subject to required approvals.   Following this, the plan is for North Manchester General Hospital (which is currently part of The Pennine Acute Hospitals NHS Trust) to join the new organisation around 12-18 months later.

As a result of this plan, it’s such an extremely exciting and challenging period in the delivery of health and social care in Greater Manchester and one that provides a wealth of opportunity. Our new organisation will provide a single hospital service across the city of Manchester and in 12- 18 months will also include the services currently provided by North Manchester General Hospital.  These changes will make a real difference to the health outcomes and quality of life for the people of Manchester.

At the Manchester Royal Eye Hospital (MREH) we offer a unique range of services to the North West, treating and managing the simplest to the most complex conditions and diseases. For our nurses, it means the chance to gain diverse experience in pioneering teams within ophthalmology. The MREH provides an expanding ophthalmic outpatient service at Altrincham Hospital.

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Band 5 Staff Nurse to join our ophthalmic outpatient nursing team based at Altrincham Hospital. You are required to have a flexible approach to working, be self-motivated and a great team player.

We currently work Monday-Friday but with a move to a seven day NHS there will be a requirement for you to work a flexible shift pattern over 7 days a week..
