From 1st October 2017, Central Manchester University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (CMFT) and the University Hospital of South Manchester NHS Foundation Trust (UHSM) has joined together to create a new Foundation Trust which has been named Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust. 

Our new organisation will provide a single hospital service across the city of Manchester and in 12- 18 months will also include the services currently provided by North Manchester General Hospital.  These changes will make a real difference to the health outcomes and quality of life for the people of Manchester.  That’s why this really is an extremely exciting and challenging period in the delivery of health and social care in Greater Manchester and one that provides a wealth career opportunities for great people right across our Group. 

Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital (RMCH) is a Tertiary Hospital providing regional and supra regional services which include most dietetic clinical paediatric specialties. We are based in a new 371 bedded purpose built hospital near the centre of Manchester and are continuing to expand and develop our paediatric dietetic service to reflect the state of the art facilities in the largest Children’s hospital in Europe.

The service structure reflects and supports the integration into a centralised Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital (RMCH) paediatric AHP team. Dietetics is well recognised and respected and forms part of most multi-disciplinary clinical teams. RMCH has a professional lead for paediatric dietetics with a clinical dietetic team of 5 Team leads/ Clinical specialists and 23 band 7/6 paediatric dietitians all supported by dietetic assistants and special feeds unit.

You would predominantly work as a valued member of the multi-disciplinary Diabetes team . We have a total of 1.4 wte band 7 diabetes dietitian and the service is also supported by a band 6 rotational part time post.

Any remaining clinical time (- possibly 2 sessions a week ) would be agreed according to experience and departmental needs at a band 7 level of responsibility.

Recent clinical experience in clinical paediatric dietetics including expertise in Diabetes is essential as is a comprehensive paediatric dietetic knowledge base together . You must also be able to demonstrate evidence of paediatric post registration dietetic CPD and training (e.g. Paediatric Masters Modules or equivalent).

You would also be expected to undertake training of others, line manage and /or support B6’s, participate in student training (A placement) and provide cover within the department for annual leave.

We will provide access to training and support for CPD with annual appraisals, peer support and specialist networking to further develop highly specialist clinical skills.
