We are looking for an exceptional nurse to join our award winning Adult Congenital Heart Specialist Nursing Team. This is a great opportunity to be involved in developing this supra-regional service for adults with congenital heart disease covering the North West of England, North Wales and Isle of Man.

You will be based within the Manchester Heart Centre with state of the art facilities as part of the Division of Medical Specialties. You will have primary responsibility for supporting and developing spoke services within the region as part of our current “Hub and Spoke” model of care and therefore you need to be willing to split your time between hospital sites. You will be involved in developing services at Liverpool Heart + Chest Hospital and will be required to spend part of your week there. NHS England is currently undergoing a national review of congenital heart disease services and they are committed to developing a world class service in the North West of England. This post may therefore be subject to change pending the outcome of this review.

Are you an exceptional Band 6 nurse with experience of congenital heart nursing or working within a tertiary cardiac centre? You must have a first degree and have or be willing to work towards a Masters degree.

To succeed you will need to be committed to delivering high quality, patient focused care with pride and respect, have excellent interpersonal skills and be able to provide evidence of personal and professional development. You will need to be self-sufficient and be able to lead and develop services and be confident to work independently. You will be provided with expert guidance and support and there will be opportunities to learn and develop your knowledge within a supportive environment.

In return for your skills, enthusiasm and commitment, you can expect some truly excellent development and progression opportunities and a comprehensive induction programme. You’ll also be part of a fantastic and dedicated team that supports each other and operates with consideration and dignity at all times.

It really is a great chance to join a go-ahead Trust that has an integrated health, teaching, research and innovation campus right in the heart of Manchester. As well as offering a diverse range of services to over a million patients a year, our specialist hospitals have a real community feel and are home to hundreds of world-class clinicians and academic staff.
