Theatre Band 5 Scrub Practitioner - RGN's/ODP's

We are looking for a qualified nurse/ODP's to join our dedicated theatre team. You must possess RGN/ODP qualification and we would prefer experienced scrub staff but training can be given for newly qualified staff or practitioners who have had some theatre experience during their training. Some computer skills are necessary.

You are required to have excellent communication skills both verbal and written with a drive and ambition to support a centre of excellence in Orthopaedics and Day Case Surgery. This is an exciting opportunity for the right individuals to join a dynamic, forward thinking trust and an opportunity to work in our up and coming unit. You are required to act as the patient’s advocate in a positive manner, using research based knowledge to encourage excellent care and a positive patient journey.

Our unit is open Monday to Friday 8am -9pm and requires no on call provision. We have 6 dedicated Orthopaedic theatres and 3 other theatres that offer day surgery services in General Surgery, ENT, Dental, Urology Gynaecology, Pain Management and Paediatric Surgery.

Our hospital is small in comparison to others, so benefits from a very friendly close knit caring unit. The environment is modern in comparison to most and our team display very high standards of care and commitment for all of our patient’s.

All mandatory training is supported annually both online and face to face. Mentorship opportunities are available to staff who are committed to the department and show a keen interest in teaching learners and junior staff in all disciplines. For those who are considering applying, all staff complete adult resuscitation training.

The department underwent new model changes at the end of 2013. This enabled us to open 3 very modern laminar flow theatres that are used only for Orthopaedics. The patients are situated very close by and we have excellent working relations with our ward and clerical teams. The other 6 theatres are situated on the ground floor. We actively seek staff that are looking forward to working in an environment that encourages new ideas and ways of working.

The ethos of the department is to offer outstanding service in a centre of excellence to all patients in the North West for day case surgery and elective Orthopaedic surgery.
