From 1st October 2017, Central Manchester University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (CMFT) and the University Hospital of South Manchester NHS Foundation Trust (UHSM) has joined together to create a new Foundation Trust which has been named Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust. 

Our new organisation will provide a single hospital service across the city of Manchester and in 12- 18 months will also include the services currently provided by North Manchester General Hospital.  These changes will make a real difference to the health outcomes and quality of life for the people of Manchester.  That’s why this really is an extremely exciting and challenging period in the delivery of health and social care in Greater Manchester and one that provides a wealth career opportunities for great people right across our Group. 

A part-time vacancy has arisen for an enthusiastic and self-motivated individual who has a positive and welcoming attitude to join our team as a ward clerk on ward A3 on a temporary  contract, working 20 hours over 5 days.

As the first point of contact for visitors, you will provide a pivotal role in the smooth running of the ward. You should be confident, enjoy communicating with a wide range of people, be highly organised and have a flexible approach to work. Knowledge of the Lorenzo patient system would be an advantage although full training will be provided. The post holder will need to have excellent communication and customer care skills. The post holder needs to be dedicated to ensuring accurate details are maintained that will enable the smooth running of the unit and contribute to improving the patient’s experience.

The successful candidate will need to be able to think on their feet, be flexible, and possess organisational skills, as well as being computer literate.

The postholder will have access to vulnerable people in the course of their normal duties and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.
