Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust is one of the largest NHS Acute Hospital Trusts in the UK, comprising nine hospitals and a multitude of local, regional and national clinical services. The Trust is a major tertiary referral centre for medical and surgical specialities and Clinical & Scientific Services provides services to support these including the inpatient Adult Critical Care Services at both Wythenshawe Hospital and Manchester Royal Infirmary totalling 104 beds.

This is an exciting time for the Managed Clinical Service of Clinical & Scientific and we are looking to recruit a Senior Sister/Charge Nurse for our Adult Critical Care Service based at Manchester Royal Infirmary comprising a 20 bed General High Dependency Unit, 20 bed General Intensive Care Unit and  a 5 bed High Care Unit based at Trafford General Hospital. As the Senior Sister/Charge Nurse you will provide clinical, professional and line management to the nursing team demonstrating effective leadership and setting, monitoring and maintaining standards.

You must be a Registered Nurse (Adult) who is qualified in the specialty, have a degree in health related studies, a teaching qualification and significant current experience in a senior nursing position in a large adult Critical Care department.

You can expect to be well supported by our senior nursing team of three Matrons, a Lead Nurse and a Deputy Director of Nursing.  Additionally, you will have the opportunity to access relevant Trust and external learning programs for your continuing professional development.

You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
