MFT at the Wythenshawe site (WTWA) is a major acute teaching hospital recognised as a centre of clinical excellence and provides a wide range of health services as part of the largest NHS Trust in the UK.

We have got a vacancy for a Band 7 Anesthetic & Recovery Theatre Lead to provide clinical leadership and expertise within our Treatment and Diagnostic Theatres (TDC) theatres. You will be working jointly with a fellow Band 7 Theatre Lead for Scrub; you will be jointly responsible for the clinical leadership of these Theatres.

TDC Theatres currently house the regional Centre of Excellence for Hand Surgery, major breast and tendon reconstruction across Europe. As such, any successful candidate would be working at the forefront of plastic surgical procedures across Greater Manchester. There are 5 operating theatres within the department of which 2 are Hybrid Theatres. These currently house vascular surgery, and Interventional Radiology which enables complex interventional vascular surgical procedures to be performed using the very latest in medical equipment innovation and Interventional Radiology. Our Hybrid theatres are a reference centre in the North West.

We have got a vacancy for a Band 7 Anaesthetic & Recovery Theatre Lead to provide clinical leadership and expertise within our F Block Theatres. You will be working jointly with a fellow Band 7 Theatre Lead for Scrub; you will be jointly responsible for the clinical leadership of these Theatres.

F Block Theatres: A 6-theatre complex, undertaking predominantly elective surgery, including Gynaecology, Urology including Oncology, Breast, ENT, Max Fax, General Surgery and minor Orthopaedics. The Nightingale Centre at UHSM is the Centre of Excellence for Breast Care in the North West. F Block Theatres provides the surgical intervention for these patients’ using innovative techniques and performing complex surgery. F Block Theatres also service the Trust’s two Maternity theatres.

As a valued member of our team you will also have access to the MFT Academy and LEAD Training Programme, a unique and innovative concept to develop skillsets, which brings together all of the education and training activities under one umbrella at the  Wythenshawe site.
