The Manchester NHS Foundation Trust is a major acute teaching hospital. The Trust is recognised as a centre of clinical excellence and provides a wide range of health care services to the areas of Manchester, South Manchester, South Trafford, North East Cheshire and West Stockport.

Our Opportunity

We are currently recruiting full time (37.5hrs) experienced Staff Nurses with either ward or ICU skills to join the team on the Burns Unit.

The Burns unit has critical care, high dependency and ward level beds with an integral theatre and an Outreach team who continue the care for patients from discharge. We have a multidisciplinary approach to caring for burns patients. The team comprises of staff from across many professions and includes consultants and their medical team, ward manager and the nursing team, specialist nurses, physiotherapy, occupational therapist, dietician and other allied health professionals.

Our requirement

The Burns Unit are looking to recruit an enthusiastic individuals who have ward or ICU skills (at least 12months experience) to work in a changing and challenging environment. They must be confident, approachable and able to demonstrate ability to work under own initiative.

We are looking for staff nurses with a compassionate, caring nature who will focus on the delivery of care, working to ensure standards are met and improved within the clinical environment working closely with nursing colleagues, multidisciplinary team and partner organisations.

You will:

  • You will need to be passionate about your role as a registered nurse   and be able to adapt to changing situations quickly
  • Have an interest in working as part of this team •You need to have excellent organisation skills •Possess strong communication and interpersonal skills •Willing to work well within a large multi-disciplinary team and individually •Work with team members with appropriate levels of supervision when needed •Be committed to delivering the highest standards of care whilst meeting the physical, emotional and complex psychosocial needs of our patients.

The unit encourages and supports staff development having links with the Critical Care Institute and other educational providers within Greater Manchester. As part of the role you will undertake the certificate in professional studies in Burns care within 12-18 months as part of your development.
