From 1st October 2017, Central Manchester University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (CMFT) and the University Hospital of South Manchester NHS Foundation Trust (UHSM) has joined together to create a new Foundation Trust which has been named Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust. 

Our new organisation will provide a single hospital service across the city of Manchester and in 12- 18 months will also include the services currently provided by North Manchester General Hospital.  These changes will make a real difference to the health outcomes and quality of life for the people of Manchester.  That’s why this really is an extremely exciting and challenging period in the delivery of health and social care in Greater Manchester and one that provides a wealth career opportunities for great people right across our Group. 

Applications are sought for a junior Clinical Fellow in Cardiology at the Manchester Heart Centre, Manchester Royal Infirmary.


This post would be ideal for candidates seeking experience in Cardiology with a view to seeking a training post in the speciality, or for candidates looking to expand their medical experience prior to taking up further training opportunities. For the right candidate, this role will offer great opportunities to develop clinical skills and gain a great deal of experience.


Working as part of a team of ward based doctors, an advanced nurse practitioner, and the Cardiology Registrar along with the Consultant of the Week, the primary duties of the post include management responsibilities for patients on the cardiology wards.


Although this is not a training post, sessions will also be made available for specific activities related to core cardiology training and gaining MRCP depending on the individual needs and aspirations of the successful candidate.
