Are you an RN with an interest in Parkinson’s disease and looking for a role at Wythenshawe Hospital? Do you feel you could deliver a high level of care to a Parkinson’s patients in an acute setting and provide up-to-date knowledge and skills to your colleagues on the management of this complex condition?

Ward F7 south  is one half of an acute medical ward that specialise in care of the older person. It consists of 16 bedded wards. The ward work using a multidisciplinary approach; and are looking for new team members who have an interest in Parkinson’s/ Parkinson’ disease dementia and related conditions.

A structured induction and training program ensure that our nurses receive the following:- 

-Band 5 induction - Corporate and Clinical induction - Preceptorship and clinical skills program for Nurses led by Practice Based Educators

-Administration of IV drugs The Parkinson’s team (Consultant and nurse specialist), have a base on the ward and are available to provide learning opportunities along with planned education and training on Parkinson’s Disease. It would be expected that you would cascade this information to the ward team and support the ward manager in providing excellent care in this area.

There will also be the opportunity to attend the LEAD courses provided by the trust.
