An excellent opportunity has arisen to recruit a Band 7 Critical Care Nurse to lead the established adult ICU-Follow Up team at Manchester Royal Infirmary.

We are looking for a highly motivated, hard-working, innovative and dynamic individual to lead the existing Follow-Up team of two nurses and a physiotherapist.

The Critical Care Follow-Up team helps the ICU team to prepare rehabilitation plans for complex patients on intensive care. Following Critical Care discharge the team reviews all patients as they step down into the ward environment, assists with psychological support and liaises with multidisciplinary ward teams to help accelerate recovery from critical illness. The leader of the team will ensure that data are maintained to achieve compliance with local, Network and national rehabilitation guidelines and comprehensively reviews any re-admissions to critical care.

The applicant must be able to lead and manage a small team and have knowledge of HR issues, policies and procedures.

We expect applicants to be hard working and highly motivated with excellent communication and leadership skills.

Please note that the closing date is given as a guide, we reserve the right to close this vacancy once a sufficient number of applications has been received. You are advised to submit your application as early as possible to avoid disappointment.

Applicant requirements

You must have appropriate UK professional registration.

Applications from job seekers who require Tier 2 sponsorship to work in the UK are welcome and will be considered alongside all other applications. However, non-EEA candidates may not be appointed to a post if a suitably qualified, experienced and skilled EU/EEA candidate is available to take up the post as the employing body is unlikely, in these circumstances, to satisfy the resident labour market test. UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) requires employers to complete this test to show that no suitably qualified EEA or EU worker can fill the post. For further information please visit the UKVI website. From 6 April 2017, Tier 2 skilled worker applicants, applying for entry clearance into the UK, must present a criminal record certificate from each country they have resided continuously or cumulatively for 12 months or more in the past 10 years. Adult dependants (over 18 years old) will also be subject to this requirement. Guidance can be found here Criminal Records Checks for Overseas Applicants.

This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service.
