Trust Grade Doctors in Emergency Medicine

Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust is seeking to appoint several trust grade doctors at CMT 1 / CMT 2 level in Emergency Medicine. These posts commence on 1st February 2018 and are for 6 months in duration in the first instance but there may be the opportunity to extend the post to 12 months in duration and stay in Emergency Medicine.

Emergency Medicine participates in a full shift rota

As the Trust with the second highest number of Core Medical Trainees in the Northwest Region we have a wide range of educational opportunities available which can be tailored to the needs of individual trainees. The education programme for junior doctors at CMT 1/ 2 level at the Manchester University Foundation Trust, Wythenshawe is active and includes a highly successful dedicated PACES teaching program with regular teaching sessions for 6 weeks prior to each exam diet. In addition both Emergency Medicine and the Medical Specialties have additional weekly departmental meetings. There is also the opportunity to attend radiology meetings, lunchtime lectures, medical specialty clinics and several sub-specialty multi-disciplinary team meetings. These posts are identical in the clinical supervision, educational supervision and in-house educational programme opportunities given to our training grade medical posts at this junior grade level (including access to our PACES teaching programme).

Applications from job seekers who require Tier 2 sponsorship to work in the UK are welcome and will be considered alongside all other applications. However, non-EEA candidates may not be appointed to a post if a suitably qualified, experienced and skilled EU/EEA candidate is available to take up the post as the employing body is unlikely, in these circumstances, to satisfy the Resident Labour Market Test. The UK Border Agency requires employers to complete this test to show that no suitably qualified EEA or EU worker can fill the post. For further information please visit UK Border Agency website.

Please note that the closing date is given as a guide, we reserve the right to close this vacancy once a  sufficient number of applications has been received. You are advised to submit your application as early as possible to avoid disappointment.
