Our commitment to you as a Registered Nurse is to provide you with a friendly, dynamic environment which all team members are supported. It is essential that you are committed to continue on-going in house training and development and be motivated to learn and adapt to change. We will, as a Managerial and Education team ensure you have the environment to make this happen. You can expect plenty of support to help you progress, including a PDP, ongoing training and Specialist Gastroenterology Knowledge and Skill base.

We offer a robust Preceptorship course to newly qualified nurses plus the opportunity to attend internal and external courses to improve and develop your skill set

#TEAMGASTRO! is a centre of excellence for Hepatobilliary and Gastroenterology and has close links to Endoscopy. You will see conditions in this department that you won't see anywhere else. Learning about nutrition and how to feed patients other than orally for example, TPN, naso gastric, PEG, RIG. You will also gain experience and learn how to use the various means of venous access e.g IV, PICC, Hickman and Portacath. 

Patients have a wide variety of conditions including inflammatory bowel disease, liver diease, cancers, eating disorders, substance misuse and mental health problems.
