An opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, highly motivated dietitian to join our supportive department of within Adult Services at Manchester University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

The post will be based at Manchester Royal Infirmary, a large teaching hospital for Manchester University's Medical School. We have a well-established student training programme and you will be actively involved in student training with support to develop clinical supervisory skills. The post offers excellent facilities and support for continued professional development.  It is the ideal opportunity for anyone wishing to develop their clinical skills whilst being able to contribute to clinical effectiveness within the Trust.

The Adult department is split into four teams; the Adult Acute and Rehabilitation team, the renal team, the Diabetes team and a team of Dietitians based at Trafford General Hospital. We are looking for an experienced gastro dietitian to join our team as the Band 7 Gastroenterology Lead.  The gastroenterology team at MRI consists of a full time Band 7 dietitian and two full time Band 6 dietitians.  The post holder will take the lead on service development within Colorectal and the Gastro Luminal Service and will be attending regular MDT meetings.  As the Band 7 specialist dietitian you will have an inpatient caseload consisting of complex enteral and parenteral feeds.  The gastro team also has a large outpatient service and cover six gastro clinics per month which involve seeing patients with IBS, functional gastrointestinal disorders, motility disorders and IBD.   The post holder will take the lead in the service evaluation and development of these services.  You will also be required to provide clinical supervision and direct line management to two full time band 6 dietitians within the team.

You will be encouraged to work as part of the multidisciplinary team and to participate in training, service development, academic and clinical meetings. A flexible attitude, excellent interpersonal and team working skills are essential along with an excellent knowledge of Nutrition Support and eagerness to learn.

To apply for this post you must have a degree, postgraduate diploma or Master’s Degree in Nutrition and Dietetics and current HCPC registration is essential. FODMAP training would be desirable.
