If you want to have a greater impact in haematology, it’s all here for you at Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust (MFT). You’ll have the resources of one of the UK’s largest laboratory services – and one of two pathology hubs in Greater Manchester. You’ll help shape ground-breaking research as well as vital local and regional services. All from a newly-refurbished facility in forward-looking Manchester.

As our Head of Service for Laboratory Haematology, you’ll develop our general and specialist diagnostic and therapeutic services with your own innovative image. This goes far beyond instilling exceptional clinical and scientific standards. The strategy behind our services and research, the assessment of risks, and our clinical governance – they’ll all be driven by you.

This will involve building strong relationships across MFT: chairing the Strategy and Governance Board, and sitting on the Division of Laboratory Medicine Management Board as well as a number of sub-committees.

You’ll stay involved in the laboratory’s day-to-day work. But you’ll spend a great deal of time championing its importance and leading the introduction of cutting-edge methods and technology.

As a minimum, this calls for a relevant PhD and weighty experience in the field. On a personal level, you’ll be an inspirational figurehead well-used to mixing invention with financial acumen, and political savvy with a practical approach.

Join us at our open day on the 9th October 2018, between 3pm – 7pm at The Nowgen Centre, Manchester, and discover the Biomedical Science opportunities we can offer you across our specialist services. If you're interested in attending please register your interest by emailing to confirm your attendance.
