Full-Time (10 PA) Locum Consultant Histopathologist at Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust (Wythenshawe Hospital).

This is an opportunity for an enthusiastic cellular pathologist to join our team of subspecialist pathologists based at Wythenshawe Hospital.  This is a new post.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to contribute to cardiothoracic, gastrointestinal, urological or skin pathology in the first instance in line with the current needs of the department although input into other specialties may be desired as the workload of the department continues to evolve.  Participation in the coronial autopsy service is negotiable and would be welcomed.  There is no requirement for cervical cytology in this post.

There are close links with the University of Manchester Medical School and there are opportunities for teaching and research locally.  The department is part of the HENW North West training rotation and the successful candidate will be expected to participate in the training of Specialty Trainees in Histopathology.

Applicants must hold Full and Specialist Registration with the General Medical Council (GMC) with a license to practice (or be eligible for registration within 6 months of date of interview), and Fellowship of the Royal College of Pathologists or evidence of equivalent qualification.  If a newly qualified UK trainee, the applicant must ALSO be a holder of the Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT), or within six months of award of CCT (or equivalent) by date of interview.  Applicants who are non-UK trained will be required to show evidence of equivalence to the UK CCT.
