From 1st October 2017, Central Manchester University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (CMFT) and the University Hospital of South Manchester NHS Foundation Trust (UHSM) has joined together to create a new Foundation Trust which has been named Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust. 

Our new organisation will provide a single hospital service across the city of Manchester and in 12- 18 months will also include the services currently provided by North Manchester General Hospital.  These changes will make a real difference to the health outcomes and quality of life for the people of Manchester.  That’s why this really is an extremely exciting and challenging period in the delivery of health and social care in Greater Manchester and one that provides a wealth career opportunities for great people right across our Group. 

Are you an enthusiastic person with an interest in science? If so we would like you to join our existing team to work as an Assistant Practitioner in Immunology at  Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust.

We’re the largest Immunology department in the North West of England and the first immunology lab in the UK to hold UKAS/ISO 15189 accreditation. We are undergoing a period of expansion including the acquisition of new equipment and are looking to recruit an assistant practitioner. If you are suitably qualified with appropriate experience then please consider joining our Trust’s Immunology team. As for the future, we aim to be the best provider of immunology laboratory services in the region.

You will will be part of a team supervising the work of support staff in the department. Working in one of the sections of the laboratory on a rotational basis you’ll also carry out technical/scientific work to aid the clinical diagnosis of a number of immunological disorders. This role will enable you to develop and widen your technical and supervisory skills.

You will be able access the Trust’s training opportunities and department’s CPD programme. As well, your personal development will be formally planned and agreed at your appraisal and reviewed on a regular basis.
