We are Manchester Local Care Organisation - an exciting, new public sector organisation that is bringing together NHS community health services and social care services in the city. We’re driven by the aim of improving the health of local people in Manchester by working across organisational boundaries.

The first health and social care staff have been deployed to us from April 2018 and are now starting to work in new ways across the city. Our teams work as one in the neighbourhoods they serve – delivering and designing services in partnership with local people. We also provide key services that work across wider localities and city-wide. We believe that our pioneering approach will make a massive difference to the health of people in our city and we are looking for you to join our team and help us do this.

Intermediate Care  in the Manchester area is looking to recruit 1 innovative, enthusiastic Physiotherapists, to be part of a lively and dynamic multi-professional team comprising health, social services and independent sector staff. Intermediate Care is a constantly evolving service so if you like change and challenges this is the job for you.

The service has beds in dedicated Intermediate Care units both nursing and residential and recently increased capacity to deliver Intermediate Care to 60 - 70 people in their own homes as well as at the front end of the acute setting to facilitate timely discharge back into the community. All staff are expected to rotate within the service, so it is essential that applicants can travel independently within the local geographical area to meet the service needs.

You must have experience of working in the NHS and it would be desirable that you have experience of working in a rehabilitation/ community setting. You must have a recognised Physiotherapy qualification and be eligible for HPC Registration.

Manchester Local Care Organisation is committed to continuing professional development for all staff and with our commitment to improving the working lives of our staff, we offer flexible working practices and benefits. We will provide a comprehensive induction programme and you will be appraised on a yearly basis with a view to developing knowledge and skills where appropriate.
