If you want to use your project management expertise to improve laboratory medicine, it’s all here for you at Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust (MFT). You’ll have the resources of one of the UK’s largest laboratory services – and one of two pathology hubs in Greater Manchester. You’ll help shape ground-breaking research as well as vital local and regional services. All from a newly-refurbished facility in forward-looking Manchester.

As our Transformational Lead in Laboratory Medicine, you’ll take charge of a programme of change through the introduction of a new ‘hub and spoke’ pathology service, and your efforts will be crucial to its success.

The remit is thoroughly comprehensive. You’ll issue briefings and communications, manage budgets, develop business plans, introduce new methods and technologies, build teams and personally take control of key project phases yourself.

The expert voice on projects’ direction and management will see you work with everyone: executives, laboratory teams, professional bodies, commercial companies, front-line colleagues, primary care staff and members of the public. In turn, you’ll sit on the Division of Laboratory Medicine Board and its sub-committees.

This is a challenge for a multi-disciplined specialist. As well as being HCPC-Registered and a Fellow of the Institute of Biomedical Sciences (or equivalent qualification); you’ll have Prince 2 certification (or similar) and substantial people and financial management experience. Beyond that, your understanding of laboratories, medical technologies and governance will be crucial to quickly understanding what’s required, and delivering the transformation we need.

Join us at our open day on the 9th October 2018, between 3pm – 7pm at The Nowgen Centre, Manchester, and discover the Biomedical Science opportunities we can offer you across our specialist services. If you're interested in attending please register your interest by emailing to confirm your attendance.
