From 1st October 2017, Central Manchester University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (CMFT) and the University Hospital of South Manchester NHS Foundation Trust (UHSM) has joined together to create a new Foundation Trust which has been named Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust.

The Lung Function and Sleep Laboratory have strong links with the Manchester Academic Health Science Centre (MAHSC) and all three Manchester Universities. We also have a long history of delivering training to the Manchester BSc (PTP) and MSc (STP) Clinical Physiology courses. Major research programmes in respiratory medicine focus on clinical and academic strengths in asthma, lung transplantation, lung cancer, cystic fibrosis, interstitial lung disease and cough.

An exciting opportunity has arisen to employ a full time Clinical Physiologist to provide a wide range of respiratory investigations in one of Europe’s largest lung centres. The band 5 role is ideal for a trainee who has just completed the Practitioner Training Programme and is looking to develop their skills in respiratory physiology. In this role the applicant will be expected to perform spirometry, diffusion, lung volume measurements, blood gases and field exercise tests.
