Associate Group Director of Medical Education

8d

37.5 hours

Medical education drives the success of all healthcare providers. However, at Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust, that success is astonishing in its scope and scale. We’re the country’s largest NHS Trust. Here, you’ll have the autonomy to put your best ideas into practice, as you shape the knowledge and expertise of some of the most talented people in healthcare.

As the Associate Group Director of Medical Education you will be pivotal in developing an ethos of excellence that underpins both national and local agendas.

This is a dual-focused operational and strategic role where you’ll set the targets, lay out new approaches and guide the managers who’ll see your plans through – monitoring performance at every stage. The results will impact the delivery of our front-line care, the quality of our support teams and the wealth of expertise at senior levels. Everything you do will in some way improve our effectiveness as an organisation.

In turn, you’ll personally champion education services internally and externally, and share your expertise on wider issues, from international recruitment to parallel training curricula.

Every day, your relationships with key figures will be crucial. From the Director of Medical Education, the Chief of Staff, Finance Directors to external bodies like Health Education England North West – you’ll pull everyone together so our people have the cutting-edge support they need to excel.

With a Master’s degree and hugely impressive senior-level background in an acute NHS Trust, you’ll bring a deep understanding of operational delivery, national strategic frameworks and a history of moulding strategies that inspire far-reaching change. Plus, you’ll have an ambition not only to improve our people; but create a template for other Trusts to follow, and influence medical education on the international stage.
