Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust is an innovative Trust and a leader in integrated health provision, teaching and research. Our specialist hospitals are home to hundreds of world-class clinicians and academic staff. Our vision is to develop a flexible, multi-skilled workforce delivering integrated care across health and social care boundaries. Now, you could play a key role in delivering that vision. Along the way, you’ll discover that we offer excellent opportunities for development and progression.

This is a secondment opportunity from January 2019 for 12 months due to maternity leave. We’re looking for a Band 6 nurse with a background in Stroke  – or it could be that you’re a senior Band 5 nurse looking to take the next step up. You’ll be joining our small, friendly team at Trafford Hospital, on Ward 11, Stroke Unit .

Experience of the SSNAP data collection is essential and you will be required to support the Specialist nurse in this data collection.

Ward 1 was accredited Silver under the Trusts Improving Quality Programme, in recognition of the outstanding care provided to patients. Ward 1 is one of the top performing district stroke units in the region.

Assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating care for your patients, you’ll assist the Ward Manager in ensuring that the highest standards of quality care are delivered and maintained at all times. Your confidence, enthusiasm and excellent communication skills will set you apart. And with that in mind, we’ll also look to you to support and guide other junior staff, acting as a positive role model not just for them, but for patients and carers too. As well as that, you’ll drive our core values forward to ensure that pride, respect, empathy, consideration, compassion and dignity underpin everything we do.
You will be supported to develop in the role through an annual appraisal process and a bespoke development programme.

Join us and you’ll find there’s no better place to help shape the future of healthcare.
