From 1st October 2017, Central Manchester University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (CMFT) and the University Hospital of South Manchester NHS Foundation Trust (UHSM) has joined together to create a new Foundation Trust which has been named Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust.

The Manchester Medical Microbiology Partnership (MMMP) is collaboration between Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust and Public Health England. The Microbiology delivered from the Manchester Royal Infirmary site employs over 80 staff and has a workload in excess of 600,000 specimens covering many major clinical specialties.

Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust (MFT) is the leading Trust for teaching, research and specialist services in the North West of England.

The department embraces all aspects of a modern clinical bacteriology service combining traditional methodologies with laboratory automation. It has a friendly atmosphere and offers the opportunity for you to develop personally and professionally. The department is a designated IBMS training laboratory, has an extensive quality system in operation and is fully accredited by CPA/UKAS.

You must be enthusiastic and highly motivated to help support the department’s administrative needs. You will work to assist the department with documentation production and management, minute taking, filing, booking of meetings and taking telephone enquiries. Knowledge of a number of IT packages would be advantageous. You will have experience in working effectively in an administrative setting and have a typing/work processing qualification at RSA level 2 or equivalent.

In return we will provide a comprehensive induction programme and you will be appraised on a yearly basis with a view to developing knowledge and skills where appropriate.
