Do you have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, lots of initiative, drive and enthusiasm and a real desire to be part of a consistently developing service? Are you hard working, friendly and committed to delivering a high standard of face to face customer service? Then read on!

The Manchester Royal Eye Hospital is one of the largest teaching hospitals in Europe. It has a large Outpatients Department which provides an extensive range of services both to adults and children. You will be part of an experienced multi-disciplinary team who are committed to providing the highest quality service and care to our patients, their carer's and visitors.  Supported by an exceptional clinical team of colleagues who work at the forefront of development and innovation, we’re consistently looking at ways of improving current working practices too. Indeed, as an ever changing and adapting hospital, the future is never planned out as we consistently embrace change and new developments.

Right now, we are looking for a Patient Services Clerk someone who is not afraid of a challenge. We are looking for candidates who want to join a diverse team in a very busy but rewarding environment, where they can work both independently and as part of the multi-disciplinary team.   Operating within clearly defined limits of our policies, procedures, protocols and guidelines you will support the smooth running of the MREH Outpatients Department and reflect high quality customer care in all your daily activities.  Ideally candidates will have a working knowledge of an NHS environment or its partner organisations although ultimately we are looking for people with previous experience in a customer focused environment, who can deal with many different patient demands, being able to remain calm under pressure whilst still being highly motivated as the work will be extremely challenging and varied.

All training required to undertake the post will be provided, in addition we will offer support for your personal and professional development. As well as encouraging your progression, via our appraisal process you'll also have the opportunity to access any relevant training.

This role will require you to work a rotational shift pattern, working 37.5 hours over 5 days.  We operate a 7 day service working from 07.45am to 21.00pm Monday to Sunday,   We are open 365 days a year and therefore you can also expect to work bank holidays and weekends.
