Shape a bright future for nursing in a unique new Trust

As England’s largest NHS Trust and the third largest provider of specialist services, Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust has a vital mission to provide world-class healthcare. Our Single Hospital Service will make real and lasting improvements to health outcomes and quality of life across the city of Manchester and that’s why we’re seeking an exceptional Nurse leader to join our mission.

This extremely exciting and challenging period in the delivery of health care in Greater Manchester provides a wealth of career opportunities for great people. Right now, we’re seeking an innovative practitioner to join us as our Head of Nursing providing leadership for the Division of Medicine to cover our Wythenshawe, Trafford, Withington & Altrincham hospital sites.

As for you, we’ll expect a proven commitment to improving the patient experience whilst commanding the confidence of colleagues, forging strong relationships across the nursing community and with specialty teams throughout the Trust. Setting clear expectations, and actively developing education and practice, you’ll also be instrumental in driving up standards of care.

As you implement new nursing practice and service developments whilst championing our values and behaviours, you’ll be a catalyst for exciting changes and consistent improvement. Taking the lead on quality and the patient experience, you’ll make the best possible use of nursing metrics, quality campaign and accreditation processes.

A first level registered RGN, RM or RSCN with a significant clinical track record; you’ll bring to the role extensive operational management experience at Lead Nurse level or above. Your experience spans a range of nursing specialties and models of care, with responsibility for budget management, financial planning and strategic development. We’ll expect you to be adept at making business cases, leading on clinical innovation, and shaping new roles and services. It’s your passion for the patient, collaborative spirit and excellent communication skills that really set you apart.
