Shape a bright future for nursing in a unique new Trust

As England’s largest NHS Trust and the third largest provider of specialist services, Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust has a vital mission to provide world-class healthcare. Our Single Hospital Service will make real and lasting improvements to health outcomes and quality of life across the city of Manchester and that’s why we’re seeking an exceptional Nurse leader to join our mission.

This extremely exciting and challenging period in the delivery of health care in Greater Manchester provides a wealth of career opportunities for great people. Right now, we’re  seeking an experienced senior nursing leader and innovative practitioner to join us as  our Deputy Director of Nursing, for Wythenshawe, Trafford, Withington & Altrincham hospitals.

As for you, we’ll expect you to bring proven commitment to improving the patient experience whilst commanding the confidence of colleagues, forging strong relationships across the wider MFT nursing community and with clinical teams throughout WTWA. Setting clear expectations, and actively developing education and practice, you’ll also be instrumental in driving up standards of care.

You will actively promote the Trust as a centre of excellence for nursing and midwifery and represent the professions as a role model for the values and behaviours using every opportunity to celebrate excellence and success in nursing practice. Acting as an advocate for WTWA hospitals services across MFT, you will support the Director of Nursing in ensuring that patients and service users have a voice in how services are developed and run.

A first level registered RGN, RM or RSCN with a significant clinical and senior leadership track record, you’ll bring to the role extensive strategic and operational experience at Head of Nursing or above, with an ambition to become a Director of Nursing within the next 2 to 3 years.

It’s your passion for the patient, collaborative spirit, professionalism and excellent communication skills that really set you apart.

MFT is committed to promoting equality of opportunity, celebrating and valuing diversity and eliminating any form of unlawful discrimination across our workforce, ensuring our people are truly representative of the communities we serve.
