Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust (MFT) is one of the largest acute Trusts in the UK, employing over 20,000 staff.

We are responsible for running a family of nine hospitals across six separate sites, providing a wide range of services from comprehensive local general hospital care through to highly specialised regional and national services.

We are the main provider of hospital care to approximately 750,000 people in Manchester and Trafford and the single biggest provider of specialised services in the North West of England. We are also the lead provider for a significant number of specialised services including Breast Care, Vascular, Cardiac, Respiratory, Urology, Cancer, Paediatrics, Women’s Services, Ophthalmology and Genomic Medicine.

Our vision is to improve the health and quality of life of our diverse population by building an organisation that:

  • Excels in quality, safety, patient experience, research, innovation and teaching
  • Attracts, develops and retains great people
  • Is recognised internationally as a leading healthcare provider

As one of the UK’s largest recruiters of Overseas Nurses, we have expanded our team to support the delivery of the Trust’s International Recruitment Strategy.

We are looking for a band 6 nurse to lead on the International Nurse Recruitment Programme across MFT. This is a unique opportunity for a motivated nurse who has recent clinical experience and a passion for education and innovation.

Since commencing the international recruitment programme in November 2015, there has been over 230 international nurses join the Trust with another 20 nurses predicted to arrive every 4-6 weeks during 2019.

The successful applicant will facilitate and develop the training programme to support our internationally recruited nurses through the NMC Test of Competence Part 2 to obtain NMC Registration.

You must be able to demonstrate excellent communication/presentation skills and enjoy working as part of a team as teaching others will form a significant part of your role. Organisation and self-motivation are two key attributes we are looking for.

Extensive experience working in an acute clinical setting is essential. The post will be based at Oxford Rd, and involves working across all hospital sites, and therefore access to transport is essential.

If you would like the opportunity to gain experience in a 12 month secondment, supported by a friendly and dynamic team, then please get in touch to arrange an informal visit or discussion.
