CONSULTANT GYNAE-ONCOLOGIST (substantive appointment)


Applications are invited for the above post at Manchester University Hospitals Foundation Trust, to join a team of 24 Consultant Gynaecologists which including 6 Gynaecological Oncologists at St Mary’s Hospital, Oxford Road Campus.


The post is a permanent appointment and is a 10 PA contract. The successful post holder will deliver outpatient clinics and theatre procedures at Saint Mary’s Hospital Oxford Road Campus and will contribute to the Gynae-Oncology Consultant on call rota. The post is aimed at a highly skilled and motivated applicant who will contribute to the leadership in developing the gynaecology oncology service to provide excellent outcomes and world class standards. The post is based at the Oxford road campus however, there will be a requirement to attend meetings on occasion at the Wythenshawe Hospital Campus and collaborate with the Wythenshawe clinical team as part of the Gynaecology Managed Clinical Service.


Saint Mary’s Hospital for Women and Neonates was founded over 200 years ago. Saint Mary’s Hospital benefits from being co-located with the new Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital, Manchester Royal Infirmary and the Royal Eye Hospital comprising the Oxford Road Campus. The trust has recently merged with Wythenshawe hospital to form Manchester University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and St Mary’s Hospital is now responsible for managing the integrated gynaecology service across Wythenshawe and Oxford Road.


In addition to providing secondary services for the local population, Saint Mary’s also provides tertiary services to the North West region in Gynaecological Oncology, Uro-gynaecology, Reproductive Medicine, Genetics, Neonatal Medicine and Neonatal Surgery and in Obstetrics, Fetal and Maternal Medicine.


The University of Manchester is also situated within walking distance of the Trust and the Medical School is directly adjacent to the Trust.


Applicants must be in possession of the MRCOG or equivalent qualification and be fully registered with the GMC.
