Are you an enthusiastic and motivated Occupational Therapist with experience in adult orthopaedic trauma? If so, we would like you to join our well established Trauma and Orthopaedic Therapy Team.

Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust (MFT) is the leading Trust for teaching, research and specialist services in the North West of England. We provide an extensive range of district general hospital services to the local population of central Manchester and tertiary and specialist services to patients from across the North West and beyond.

You will provide clinical and professional expertise in the care of a variety of acute orthopaedic in patients including those with frailty and complex major trauma.

Your role will involve working with the Trauma and Orthopaedic Therapy team and helping to develop the service and the Occupational Therapy role. There will be the expectation and opportunity to enhance specialist skills such as splinting and the assessment of patients with head injuries. You will  be expected to manage your own caseload as well as supervision of more junior members of staff. You will work closely with the multi-disciplinary team to guide seamless discharge planning for all orthopaedic patients under your care.

The team is proactive in the development of both staff and service and are committed to Continuing Professional Development, providing regular multi-professional in-service training and specialist uni-disciplinary support.  You will have regular appraisals and supervision.

We have an established 7 day service and you will be expected to contribute to the weekend rota.
