Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust (MFT) is one of the largest acute Trusts in the UK, employing over 20,000 staff.

We are responsible for running a family of nine hospitals across six separate sites, providing a wide range of services from comprehensive local general hospital care through to highly specialised regional and national services.

We are the main provider of hospital care to approximately 750,000 people in Manchester and Trafford and the single biggest provider of specialised services in the North West of England. We are also the lead provider for a significant number of specialised services including Breast Care, Vascular, Cardiac, Respiratory, Urology Cancer, Paediatrics, Women’s Services, Ophthalmology and Genomic Medicine.

Our vision is to improve the health and quality of life of our diverse population by building an organisation that:

  • Excels in quality, safety, patient experience, research, innovation and teaching
  • Attracts, develops and retains great people
  • Is recognised internationally as a leading healthcare provider

Do you have a highly professional and patient-centred style? If so we would like you to join our band 5 rotation. To apply for this vacancy you must have a recognised or pending BSc Honours degree or equivalent in occupational therapy and if already qualified be registered with the Health Care Professions Council.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a varied rotation which spans adult specialties across acute and rehabilitation services at both Trafford General Hospital and Manchester Royal Infirmary.

You will demonstrate commitment to multi-disciplinary working; all of our occupational therapists work in integrated therapy teams alongside physiotherapists, speech and language therapists and support workers. You will also need to use your well-developed communication skills in order to work effectively with the wider multi-disciplinary team.

You will be supported to develop your clinical skills by rotating through acute settings, rehabilitation and specialist services . You will benefit from preceptorship, supervision, appraisal and teaching in each of the rotations. You will also have access to peer support groups.
