Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust is seeking to appoint a Specialist Registrar (ST3+) in Acute Geriatrics & Frailty  This post is fixed term until end January 2019.      

This post offers an excellent opportunity for doctors wishing to develop clinical skills and experience in teaching or quality improvement projects, dependent on the candidates preference. There will be dedicated time in the job plan allocated on a weekly basis.

Wythenshawe Hospital has an excellent postgraduate and undergraduate department with significant teaching opportunities at all grades, including a large Physician Associate programme. Reseach and quality improvement is one of Wythenshawe’s milestones and over the past year, trainees have presented at many conferences, both nationally and internationally, through projects they have undertaken within their specialist interests.

This post is flexible, has an assigned educational supervisor and a wide range of educational opportunities available which can be tailored to the needs of individual trainees as well as additional weekly departmental meetings.

There is also the opportunity to attend lunchtime lectures, specialty clinics and multi-disciplinary team meetings. This post is identical in the clinical supervision, educational supervision and in-house educational programme opportunities given to our training grade medical posts at this middle grade level.

All rotas participate in a full shift rota pattern.

Applicants must be a fully registered medical practitioner and hold a current GMC licence to practice and be eligible to work in the UK.  They must have a minimum of two years post Foundation medical experience equivalent to Core Medical training.  A current Advanced Life Support Certificate (or equivalent) is essential.  Please refer to the person specification for further details.
