Band 7 Service Manager – Lung Cancer and Thoracic Surgery Directorate

This is an exciting time to work at Manchester NHS Foundation Trust (MFT). As part of the largest NHS Trust in England our teams are dedicated to working collaboratively to provide outstanding care and improve health outcomes for all out patients.

We are offering an exciting opportunity for a dynamic and forward thinking Service Manager who wants to be part of Lung Cancer and Thoracic Surgery Directorate at Wythenshawe Hospital. The Lung Cancer and Thoracic Surgery Directorate includes Lung Cancer Medicine, Thoracic Surgery and Medical Oncology.

The role will be very varied from working teams on national targets around RTT and cancer, managing the administrative teams and improving the services operationally. The successful candidate will also be involved with projects to support service improvements within Lung Cancer and Thoracic Surgery and have the ability to collect and analyse data to produce comprehensive reports for the Directorate team. An understanding of both elective and non-elective patient activity management is essential as well as proven track record of managing change to ensure the Directorate achieves its strategic aims. The successful candidate will report to the Deputy Directorate Manager working closely with key stakeholders to ensure an excellent quality of service is delivered. This role will be a fantastic platform for future roles providing excellent experience in operational management. We are looking for someone with a ‘can do’ attitude to join a forward thinking innovative team providing excellent patient care.
