Band 4/5 Ward Based Pharmacy Technician (depending on experience)

With a patient-focused approach, you will:

• Support clinical pharmacists and other ward based pharmacy staff in the provision of complete pharmaceutical care to patients at ward level.
• Deliver a comprehensive technical medicines management service at ward level.
• Deliver a high quality dispensing service to a multitude of areas throughout the Trust.

To help us do this, we are looking for an enthusiastic and astute individual to join our busy team. Self-motivated and flexible, you will have excellent organisational and communication skills. You’ll have the ability to work effectively both independently and with the existing team at ward level and within the pharmacy department.

You will also have:
• BTEC Level 3 Diploma in Pharmaceutical Science, or equivalent
• Level 3 NVQ Diploma in pharmacy services skills, or equivalent
• Registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC)
• The ability to develop good working relationships
• The ability to work at pace in a busy environment
• Good I.T/keyboard skills
• A flexible approach and commitment to accommodate the needs of the service
• Strong attention to detail

The post offers in-service development training at ward level and the opportunity to gain further qualifications such as the BTEC Level 4 Professional Diploma in Dispensing Accuracy Checking. MFT has provided us with a purpose built, state of the art pharmacy department. Training and development will continue to be one of our main priorities as we continue to lead the way in customer and pharmaceutical care.

The post will be a shift working position including weekends and evenings, 37.5 hours per week covering 24 hour shifts.

Note that this post is being advertised as a band 4/5 depending on experience.
