An excellent opportunity has arisen for a dedicated and enthusiastic pharmacist to join the pharmacy team at Wythenshawe Hospital to provide maternity leave cover for the site Medication Safety Officer.

We are looking for an individual with an enquiring mind to continue to take forward the medication safety agenda in collaboration with the lead governance pharmacist on the Oxford Road site of Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust.

A key part of your role will be responsibility for the routine review, investigation and escalation of medication related incidents in order to ensure that the Trust has a robust process for reflecting and learning from medication incidents. You will work closely with the Clinical Effectiveness Leads.  

You will have attention to detail, be an effective communicator (both oral and written) and be able to effectively convey key messages at pharmacy and multidisciplinary meetings. You should be self-motivated and confident to develop the role and also have a dynamic approach to forging good working relationships. You should have an approachable and personable manner. 

You will have a Masters Degree in Pharmacy and a post-graduate diploma in clinical pharmacy (or equivalent experience).  You will have suitable hospital pharmacy experience across a wide range of specialities. Applicants must be a Member of the General Pharmaceutical Council.

This post is one year fixed term. Hours are 37.5 per week, weekdays 9am to 5.15pm, with participation in late night working, weekends and on-call on a rotational basis.
