If so, this is an exciting opportunity to join our Dispensary based pharmacy team to assist in the delivery of a safe and efficient Dispensary service. Good communication skills and the ability to adapt to the various duties of the post are also required. Previous experience of hospital pharmacy is desirable but not essential as full training will be given in all aspects of the post and personal development will be encouraged.

You should have a BTEC/NVQ level 3 in pharmaceutical science or equivalent nationally recognised pharmacy qualification and professional registration with the GPhC is essential.

If not already qualified, you will be expected to successfully complete the BTEC Level 4 Accuracy Checking Technician's course and perform accuracy checking in due course. In return we will provide a comprehensive induction programme and you will be appraised on a yearly basis with a view to developing knowledge and skills where appropriate. Based in the Pharmacy Department your main duties will be dispensing discharge prescriptions and controlled drugs and a variety of duties including dispensing for in and outpatients, the ad-hoc supply of ward stock drugs, maintenance of dispensary stocks and use of the pharmacy computer system, and automated dispensing system.  You must have a BTEC/NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Pharmaceutical Science and be registered with the GPhC.
