From 1st October 2017, Central Manchester University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (CMFT) and the University Hospital of South Manchester NHS Foundation Trust (UHSM) has joined together to create a new Foundation Trust which has been named Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust.

Our new organisation will provide a single hospital service across the city of Manchester and in 12- 18 months will also include the services currently provided by North Manchester General Hospital.  These changes will make a real difference to the health outcomes and quality of life for the people of Manchester.  That’s why this really is an extremely exciting and challenging period in the delivery of health and social care in Greater Manchester and one that provides a wealth career opportunities for great people right across our Group.

If you’re a motivated pharmacy student, you’ll find this an exciting opportunity to improve your dispensing skills, broaden your horizons and develop your professional career.

You will need to be a confident communicator with a responsible attitude in order to meet the necessary challenges of this role, which will include liaising with all members of the pharmacy team, other healthcare professionals and patients visiting our busy dispensary.

This is an ideal opportunity for first or second year pharmacy students who can commit to working for approx four hours, either on a Saturday or Sunday, on alternate weekends throughout the year.

Previous dispensing experience in a community or hospital pharmacy would be an advantage but full training will be provided. Successful applicants must be committed to attending a Trust induction day and to participating in our departmental induction training programme during that week, before starting weekend working.
