From 1st October 2017, Central Manchester University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (CMFT) and the University Hospital of South Manchester NHS Foundation Trust (UHSM) has joined together to create a new Foundation Trust which has been named Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust. 

Our new organisation will provide a single hospital service across the city of Manchester and in 12- 18 months will also include the services currently provided by North Manchester General Hospital.  These changes will make a real difference to the health outcomes and quality of life for the people of Manchester.  That’s why this really is an extremely exciting and challenging period in the delivery of health and social care in Greater Manchester and one that provides a wealth career opportunities for great people right across our Group. 

Looking for something different? This is an exciting opportunity to participate in pioneering work as part of our Community Medicines Optimisation Services team fixed term until March 2019.

Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust (MFT) is the leading Trust for teaching, research and specialist services in the North West of England.

You will be part of a team of forward thinking clinical pharmacists and pharmacy technicians who support MFT community services directorates and various other primary care providers including intermediate care, care homes, GP practices, CCGs, GP Out of Hours Providers, Marie Stopes UK, the Northern Integrated Sexual Health clinics and the North West Ambulance Service.

You will need to be enthusiastic, enjoy tackling new challenges and welcome hard work. You will have the opportunity to experience various patient-facing services but will mainly be providing a clinical pharmacy service in General Practice.

It is a requirement of this post that you can drive and have access to your own transport.

In return we will provide a comprehensive induction programme and you will be appraised on a yearly basis with a view to developing knowledge and skills where appropriate.

You must have appropriate UK professional registration.

The postholder will have access to vulnerable people in the course of their normal duties and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.
