From 1st October 2017, Central Manchester University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (CMFT) and the University Hospital of South Manchester NHS Foundation Trust (UHSM) has joined together to create a new Foundation Trust which has been named Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust. 

Our new organisation will provide a single hospital service across the city of Manchester and in 12- 18 months will also include the services currently provided by North Manchester General Hospital.  These changes will make a real difference to the health outcomes and quality of life for the people of Manchester.  That’s why this really is an extremely exciting and challenging period in the delivery of health and social care in Greater Manchester and one that provides a wealth career opportunities for great people right across our Group. 

The Allied Health Professionals Directorate based at Manchester Royal Infirmary is a large and dynamic forward thinking department dedicated to providing a high quality service to our patients. You must be registered with the Health and Care Professions Council. You must be an enthusiastic and motivated Physiotherapist to join our well established and supported 4 monthly rotations across the following wide range of clinical areas.

• Trauma Orthopaedics
• Acute Respiratory and Elderly Medicine
• Musculoskeletal Outpatients
• Rehabilitation 
• Women’s Health 
• Specialist Medicine
• Cardiac Surgery
• Surgery/ITU 
• Hospital and Community Team
• Rheumatology
• Stroke 
• Vascular 

We also have a rotation based at Trafford General Hospital which is:

• Intermediate Neuro Rehabilitation

As part of a large teaching hospital, our lively multi-disciplinary department is committed to providing excellent patient focused care. 

Within each rotation you will supported closely by a multi-disciplinary team of senior therapists allowing you to develop clinical knowledge and skills. We are committed to CPD and provide tailored IST programmes, an active peer support group and regular appraisals.
