Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust (MFT) is one of the largest acute Trusts in the UK, employing over 20,000 staff.

We are responsible for running a family of nine hospitals across six separate sites, providing a wide range of services from comprehensive local general hospital care through to highly specialised regional and national services.

We are the main provider of hospital care to approximately 750,000 people in Manchester and Trafford and the single biggest provider of specialised services in the North West of England. We are also the lead provider for a significant number of specialised services including Breast Care, Vascular, Cardiac, Respiratory, Urology Cancer, Paediatrics, Women’s Services, Ophthalmology and Genomic Medicine.

Our vision is to improve the health and quality of life of our diverse population by building an organisation that:

  • Excels in quality, safety, patient experience, research, innovation and teaching
  • Attracts, develops and retains great people
  • Is recognised internationally as a leading healthcare provider

Whether you’re a Student Nurse, already qualified and looking for a new challenge, or looking to return to the profession, Manchester Foundation Trust has just the job. We are looking to recruit a number of Band 5 nurses across our Renal Services.

Join us and you’ll have the opportunity to work on our 36 bedded ward, comprising of 14 female beds and 22 male beds across the department. Caring with pride and empathy for all our patients suffering with severe conditions including complex renal related diseases, acute kidney injury and dialysis patients; due to the complexity of these patients we also provide high quality and compassionate end of life care.

To succeed, you’ll need to be committed to delivering high quality, patient focused care with pride and respect, have excellent interpersonal skills and be able to provide evidence of personal and professional development. You’ll also be part of a fantastic and dedicated team that supports each other and operates with consideration and dignity at all times.

In return for your skills, enthusiasm and commitment, you can expect some truly excellent development and progression opportunities and a comprehensive induction programme with bespoke renal study days tailored for your learning. We also offer a rotation programme to allow staff to experience the diverse aspects of renal nursing including haemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis.

It really is a great opportunity to join a Trust that has an integrated health, teaching, research and innovation campus with state-of-the-art facilities right in the heart of Manchester. As well as offering a diverse range of services to over a million patients a year, our specialist hospitals have a real community feel and are home to hundreds of world-class clinicians and academic staff.
