This post offers an exciting opportunity to pursue high quality and clinically important research in the field of transplantation with the aim of achieving a higher degree. The post offers the opportunity to work alongside a successful research team with an excellent track record in high quality and innovative research in the field of transplantation.

This is a replacement post intended for a surgical trainee to spend a period of time in research to obtain an MD or a PhD, while at the same time supporting the on call commitment of the transplant service. The successful candidate will have an outstanding opportunity to advance knowledge in their chosen areas of surgical research. Work will be under the direction of Mr David van Dellen.

The post would suit an established SpR/specialist trainee with good working knowledge of Transplantation and/or General Surgery, and a commitment to these specialities. Applicants must have a MRCS (or equivalent medical qualification) and full GMC registration with a licence to practise.

The post requires a high calibre individual, motivated to succeed and with the necessary inter-personal and analytical skills to manage a higher degree. A demonstrable interest in clinical research and an ability to work within a team are essential.
