Manchester Foundation Trust is looking for a full time Band 8A Clinical Specialist Physiotherapist to work for the North West Ventilation Service based at Wythenshawe Hospital.

The North West Ventilation Service is a tertiary referral centre in the North West region that cares for patients requiring domiciliary non-invasive / invasive ventilation and coughs adjuncts either within a hospital setting, care home or patients own home offering a committed MDT approach. Our clients include patients with chronic respiratory disease, neuromuscular disease and obesity related breathing disorders that are either non -Invasively or Invasively Ventilated.

This is an exciting year for the service as we continue to grow into our purpose built 16 bedded ventilation unit. 2018 included the opening of designated acute invasive ventilation weaning beds which facilitate the liberation of patients from invasive ventilation to return to their own home or next place of care.

The team has this year been given a Diamond Award, awarded to a frontline clinical team working together as One Team delivering an efficient and high performing service with excellent outcomes for patients. We have also won a Shine award which is an annual Accreditation process for ensuring high quality care and the best patient experience. This offered a great opportunity for NWVS to celebrate areas of excellence as well as to identify common themes for improvement and to share learning across the Trust.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated Clinical Specialist Respiratory Physiotherapist to join our multi-disciplinary team. The role would suit someone who is looking to gain more experience with all aspects of ventilation, caring for in and out patients. This role will be an exciting opportunity to jointly support the clinical leadership team and overseeing the AHPs within the service. It will offer the opportunity to teach specialist staff in NIV and Invasive Ventilation. We expect Audit and Research to be prominent in the role.

A full driving licence is essential for this post.

Minimum of 2 year Band 7 experience is required.

Applicant requirements

You must have appropriate UK professional registration.

Applications from job seekers who require Tier 2 sponsorship to work in the UK are welcome and will be considered alongside all other applications. However, non-EEA candidates may not be appointed to a post if a suitably qualified, experienced and skilled EU/EEA candidate is available to take up the post as the employing body is unlikely, in these circumstances, to satisfy the resident labour market test. UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) requires employers to complete this test to show that no suitably qualified EEA or EU worker can fill the post. For further information please visit the UKVI website. From 6 April 2017, Tier 2 skilled worker applicants, applying for entry clearance into the UK, must present a criminal record certificate from each country they have resided continuously or cumulatively for 12 months or more in the past 10 years. Adult dependants (over 18 years old) will also be subject to this requirement. Guidance can be found here Criminal Records Checks for Overseas Applicants.
