We are not just any respiratory team, and we are not just looking for anyone to join us. Wythenshawe Hospital is home to the largest respiratory unit in the UK, with over 40 Clinical and Academic Respiratory Consultants and the world-leading Professor of Respiratory Medicine. Our severe asthma nursing team are Nursing Times award winners, named the best in the country at delivering respiratory nursing care to patients.

We know that to be the best, we need to recruit, develop and support the best nurses to continue to provide an outstanding service. We are looking to recruit a nurse who is passionate about patient safety and the delivery of exceptional quality care. You will have an interest in respiratory medicine and a willingness to develop the skills required to become a champion in this field and share those knowledge and skills with your nursing team. Experience is not required as during the first 18 months of joining us, you will have the opportunity to develop a passport of clinical skills which will enable you to move into a competent Nursing Practitioner role.

- Band 5 induction
- Corporate and clinical induction
- Preceptorship and Clinical Skills Programme for Nurses led by Practice Based Educators
- The administration of IV drugs
In addition to education on COPD, Cystic Fibrosis , ILD and bronchiectasis, your specific respiratory competences will include:
-time with the respiratory specialist nurses
-high flow oxygen
- ear lobe gases
-port needle insertion and care of ports
- chest drains longlines,
-inhaler techniques
-NIV care
