The post is a whole time equivalent based primarily at Manchester Royal Infirmary with procedural sessions at Trafford General Hospital. Applicants should have substantial experience in managing patients with general respiratory medical problems including suspected thoracic malignancy and be fully independent with basic bronchoscopy, ideally with some experience of EBUS.

The post-holder will be part of a team of respiratory consultants with an interest in thoracic oncology and related diagnostic techniques. The focus of the post will be in the delivery of respiratory services with a focus on thoracic oncology in the outpatient clinics, inpatient referrals, procedural lists and Multi-Disciplinary meetings. The post will encourage excellent working relationships with respiratory consultants with an interest in lung cancer as well as radiologists, pathologists, oncologists, thoracic surgeons, Lung Cancer Nurse Specialists, secretarial staff and junior doctors.

The post holder will have responsibility for delivering the thoracic oncology service in close collaboration with the Consultant staff and support the delivery of daily new patient clinics, in-patient assessment and advanced bronchoscopy procedures. The post holder will be actively involved in the organisation and delivery of the Cancer MDT. As part of this post along with other colleagues the post holder will provide support and guidance for lung cancer specialist nurses, research nurses and biobank technicians.

Salary will be on the Senior Clinical fellow pay scale, £30,605 - £48,123 per annum.
