From 1st October 2017, Central Manchester University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (CMFT) and the University Hospital of South Manchester NHS Foundation Trust (UHSM) has joined together to create a new Foundation Trust which has been named Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust.

Our new organisation will provide a single hospital service across the city of Manchester and in 12- 18 months will also include the services currently provided by North Manchester General Hospital.  These changes will make a real difference to the health outcomes and quality of life for the people of Manchester.  That’s why this really is an extremely exciting and challenging period in the delivery of health and social care in Greater Manchester and one that provides a wealth career opportunities for great people right across our Group.

With 371 beds and 220,000 patient visits each year the Royal Manchester Children's Hospital is the largest children’s single site hospital in the UK. It provides specialist healthcare services including cystic fibrosis (CF) for children and young people throughout the North West; as well as nationally and internationally. Physiotherapy is well recognised and respected within RMCH and physiotherapists are valued as core members of the CF multi-disciplinary team.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated specialist physiotherapist to work with CF patients as part of the paediatric respiratory physiotherapy team. The caseload will primarily cover in-patient care; however also includes out-patient follow-ups and home visits.  The role is supported by three highly specialised CF physiotherapists working alongside several rotational physiotherapists.

The role will provide line management and teaching support to junior members of respiratory staff, participate in student education, participate in service development and provide clinical support to other respiratory areas during planned or unplanned absence.

Recent clinical experience in respiratory care (ideally some within CF), experience in a critical care environment and on-call working are essential.

We will provide access to training and support for CPD with annual appraisals, peer support and specialist networking to further develop your highly specialist clinical skills.

You will be expected to participate in the respiratory on-call and weekend/bank holiday rota.
