Required as soon as possible, this is a 6 month fixed term post which offers advanced training in vascular surgery.

The Vascular Unit at MFT serves a population of 1.2 million, and is one of the busiest in the country, specialising in surgery for carotid disease, abdominal aortic aneurysms, and severe peripheral arterial disease. A team of seven consultant vascular surgeons are well supported by a team of interventional vascular radiologists and a state of the art vascular laboratory. Two hybrid theatre suites, and our spoke services to Stockport, Macclesfield and Tameside are being further developed. The Academic Surgical Unit incorporates the Vascular Studies Unit with a research team including scientists, technicians, and research fellows and nurses. The service provides a base for regional audit and clinical governance, and is committed to postgraduate training, with three surgeons holding senior Deanery positions.

The Trust Grade (CT1/2 Level) will participate in the clinical management of patients; as well as the opportunity to experience major arterial surgery, through assistance in the Angiography Suite, and further extensive endovascular opportunities being available in theatre.

Involvement in teaching is expected; also there are numerous research opportunities in this very busy department.

You will take part in a 1:11 on call rota for Vascular, Urology, General Surgery, Urology and Breast
