Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust (MFT) is one of the largest acute Trusts in the UK, employing over 20,000 staff.

We are responsible for running a family of nine hospitals across six separate sites, providing a wide range of services from comprehensive local general hospital care through to highly specialised regional and national services.

We are the main provider of hospital care to approximately 750,000 people in Manchester and Trafford and the single biggest provider of specialised services in the North West of England. We are also the lead provider for a significant number of specialised services including Breast Care, Vascular, Cardiac, Respiratory, Urology Cancer, Paediatrics, Women’s Services, Ophthalmology and Genomic Medicine.

Our vision is to improve the health and quality of life of our diverse population by building an organisation that:

  • Excels in quality, safety, patient experience, research, innovation and teaching
  • Attracts, develops and retains great people
  • Is recognised internationally as a leading healthcare provider

An excellent opportunity has arisen to join the Interventional Radiography team at Manchester Foundation Trust (MFT).

MFT is a large Trust with an excellent reputation for teaching and research. It is a specialist centre for several disciplines including Cardiology, Renal services, Hepato-biliary services and Vascular Surgery.

You must possess a degree or a diploma in Diagnostic Radiography and be HCPC registered.

You should be enthusiastic, flexible, forward thinking and highly motivated. You must demonstrate good communication skills and work well as part of a team.

Interventional Radiology is based in a 3 roomed department with a dedicated recovery area. The Trust also boasts a Hybrid laboratory which is staffed by the Interventional team.

Interventional Radiology undertakes a wide range of procedures across a wide range of specialities including Embolization, EVAR, Vascular Access, and Urological and Biliary Intervention.

We are a small, friendly team with a commitment to providing a quality service. We currently undertake advanced practice, with one Radiographer performing peripheral angiography and a team of four Radiographers undertaking vascular access. This team recently won a Society of Radiographers award.

There may be an opportunity for the right candidate, after suitable experience, to join the Radiographic PICC insertion team.

You would be expected to participate in the 24/7 out of hours, non- residential on-call service and must be prepared to work flexible shifts.

In return we will provide a comprehensive induction programme and you will be appraised on a yearly basis with a view to developing knowledge and skills where appropriate.
