Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust (MFT) is one of the largest acute Trusts in the UK, employing over 20,000 staff.

We are responsible for running a family of nine hospitals across six separate sites, providing a wide range of services from comprehensive local general hospital care through to highly specialised regional and national services.

We are the main provider of hospital care to approximately 750,000 people in Manchester and Trafford and the single biggest provider of specialised services in the North West of England. We are also the lead provider for a significant number of specialised services including Breast Care, Vascular, Cardiac, Respiratory, Urology, Cancer, Paediatrics, Women’s Services, Ophthalmology and Genomic Medicine.

Our vision is to improve the health and quality of life of our diverse population by building an organisation that:

  • Excels in quality, safety, patient experience, research, innovation and teaching
  • Attracts, develops and retains great people
  • Is recognised internationally as a leading healthcare provider

We are looking for a Data Administrator to work within the Manchester CRF (MCRF) at Wythenshawe Hospital. The facility supports world class experimental (early phase research) in adults. We work with patients, universities and others to take the best ideas from cutting edge science and use them to create new treatments that benefit the patients.

As the Data Administrator you will be responsible for the high quality capture, processing and submission of complex clinical data from clinical records and research documentation, ensuring the data is handled in a timely manner and that MCRF's contractual obligations are met. This includes transfer of clinical data from source documentation to paper or electronic Case Report Forms (eCRFs) as required by study protocol.

Your role will involve communicating with MCRF and hospital Trust colleagues and external agencies such as pharmaceutical companies and contract research organisations. You will be the primary point of contact for data queries generated by Sponsors monitoring the trials run through MCRF. You will liaise with the nursing staff and Principal Investigators to ensure that any data anomalies which are found are rectified and the cause determined to prevent recurrence.

You will support the MCRF Information and Data Manager in the validation of and training in the use of any information

systems packages used by MCRF. Applications are invited from candidates with some experience in clinical trials, who possess strong interpersonal and communication skills. You will need advanced IT skills (MS Office 2003 and above - Access, Excel and PowerPoint). In return we will provide a comprehensive induction programme and you will be appraised on a yearly basis with a view to developing knowledge and skills where appropriate.
