From 1st October 2017, Central Manchester University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (CMFT) and the University Hospital of South Manchester NHS Foundation Trust (UHSM) has joined together to create a new Foundation Trust which has been named Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust. 

Our new organisation will provide a single hospital service across the city of Manchester and in 12- 18 months will also include the services currently provided by North Manchester General Hospital.  These changes will make a real difference to the health outcomes and quality of life for the people of Manchester.  That’s why this really is an extremely exciting and challenging period in the delivery of health and social care in Greater Manchester and one that provides a wealth career opportunities for great people right across our Group. 

You will be working as a Clinical Fellow in Emergency Medicine at Manchester Royal Infirmary and the Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital.

Manchester Royal Infirmary is a major teaching hospital situated next to the campus of the Manchester Medical School and Manchester University. The two departments receive approximately 150,000 patients per annum. You will receive teaching each week on all aspects of Emergency Medicine through the Electronic Learning Environment. You will be encouraged to undertake audit and teach medical students. You will also spend some weeks doing Emergency Paediatrics at The Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital. Although previous A&E experience is not essential, you must have 6 months UK hospital experience in an acute specialty.

Salary will be on the ST (fixed) pay scale which ranges from £30,605 to £40,491 per annum

Please note that this post does not have educational approval from the Postgraduate Dean, but training will be provided in the same way as for other trainees at the same level.
